The client wanted to bring together a series of small rooms into one useable kitchen, dining, family room, which involved removing a number of complicated roofs over an existing side extension, opening up the internal space and re-roofing as a single, simplified element. To achieve this aim we designed a triangular 'green' roof with a large oak raftered roof light to provide day light to the kitchen below. It proved a challenging design, but due to a thorough pre-site drawing process and specification, the construction ran smoothly.
