The client required additional space for her beautiful 1920's house at Kew, so a garden room to complement her well balanced and finely detailed arts & crafts inspired house was penned out. An exposed hardwood frame was used and clad externally with sliding glazing, a hardwood soffit was installed with a metal perimeter gutter creating a very light and delicately detailed appearance. A roof lantern. perfectly porportioned and placed lets the daylight in from above. The overall effect is one of lightness and perfect harmony with the original house, whilst providing a kitchen and dining space which relates intimately with the surrounding garden.
